The Southern Palatinate – an idyllic region

The picturesque wine-growing village of Gleiszellen-Gleishorbach is located directly on the so-called "German Wine Route", surrounded by a sea of vines – this is the place we call home. The village is over 800 years old and the old half-timbered houses and their beautiful inner courtyards have been lovingly restored. The vineyards stretch up the hills towards the Palatinate forest. First class wines are produced here, indulged by a mild and sunny climate. Our region is lovingly known as the "Tuscany of the Palatinate region". Visitors are free to discover a diverse landscape with castles, gentle hills and the largest interconnected forest in Germany. Hiking, cycling and even climbing on the steep sandstone cliffs are just some of the activities that can be enjoyed here. The Palatinate region is known and loved for its hospitality and excellent cuisine – and of course for the wine festivals where our wines can be sampled and savoured.
