250 years of experience in viticulture

The roots of our winery can be traced right back to the seventeenth century. It was then that Nikolas Schönlaub founded the family's winery and established our winegrowing tradition. We are now in our fifth generation. Today the family of Heinrich Schönlaub owns and manages the winemaking business. Over the centuries we have developed an enduring passion for wine. As viticulture has shifted from being a respectable handicraft to being a fine art, each generation has been confronted with new challenges. We are now able to draw on a wealth of experience and knowledge built up over many years, as we tend the vineyards, process the grapes and produce our wine. An important milestone in the development of our business was the launch of our own classification system in 2007, based on quality criteria gained from our many years of experience.
